Who is houselove, by stacy?

Before we embarked on the journey of building our home, I found myself googling "how to build a house in Chicago." Surprisingly, I didn't find many helpful answers and I struggled to find decent resources.

Despite not knowing exactly what we were getting into, after almost 2 years of searching, we bought a teardown and spent almost 8 months researching, planning, and designing our new home. It took 12 months in the active building phase before we moved in. Even though we renovated our Wicker Park condo, we realized that building a new home is a different type of beast. Along the way there were lessons learned (some hard ones) and challenges unique to building a new home in Chicago. I hope to share some of what we have learned and serve as a resource to anybody building a home.

Undoubtedly, building a home is a huge undertaking and can be stressful at times, but it is so rewarding. Along the way, I found a passion for all things home. I can't wait to share some of my tips and tricks, and lessons learned with you!
